NAV2CAL is a big diverse community. It truly feels like I found my family in this community. There are many students and mentors that come from different backgrounds and races that go through so much yet we all relate or face similar problems. I feel like I could truly be myself and never feel judged within the NAV2CAL space.

NAV2CAL means that there are finally people actively supporting the underrepresented on their higher education journey. It’s refreshing to see a program being lead by people like me, who struggled but in the end use their struggles to their advantage. Many of us POC/minorities are left navigating our way through high school and college alone because we have no support systems/are not knowledgeable about higher education. However, there is finally a program that seeks to prioritize us and help us succeed in the same ways privileged/supported students do. NAV2CAL is the first program that has truly and fully supported students like me—all while teaching me invaluable life lessons.
