Tonatiuh Beltran

Job title:
NavCal Femtor
Bio/CV:

Tonatiuh (T) Beltran is a non-traditional 4th year transfer student from College of Marin and joined the NavCal program as student fellow in Fall 2019. Tonatiuh is a Sociology major and plans to attend graduate school after her time here at Cal. She is a part of many communities on campus, such as EOP, Underground scholars, 1st-gen, and DSP.  During her first semester she became involved in a sociology research cohort supervised by Professor Dr. David Harding in the examination of employment for formerly incarcerated people acquiring jobs in California schools. She is currently working with Underground Scholars as the Administrative Coordinator. She is also an active Student Mentor in the NavCal Program. She will later further her service as non-profit organizer in hopes to pursue work in civil rights and immigration. She chose to attend Cal to make change and eradicate the system, while bringing light to the darkness of harmful historical narratives, to cease them from further existence in our education.
