Alexsander Rojas

Job title:
NAV2CAL Mentor, NAVCAL Fellow
Bio/CV:

Alexsander Rojas or "Rojas" (He/Him/El) is a 4th year, first-generation, Latinx student studying Civil & Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley. He is originally from Richmond, California, the city which he believes showed him resiliency and work ethic (as he started working at the young age of 13 to help his family financially). Growing up in a low-income household, Rojas learned how to effectively utilize his resources both at home and at school for his success. He is able to relate to various communities at Cal and therefore, he decided to give back to the NavCal community by becoming a Nav2Cal mentor to students from his high school and students from his hometown as well. While on campus, Rojas is involved with the Hispanic Engineers & Scientists (HES) organization, NavCal and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP).
